So, Ferrari will be a publicly traded company in a bit and its expected to be valued at around 12 billion dollars.
What does this mean to gearheads?
Do more R&D billions mean
1- it will finally have a hybrid a la Mclaren P1 and Porsche 918 (as in actually race”able” and actually fast lol)?
2- will it create a tesla fighter?
3- or will it start mass producing Suv’s and the ocasional diesel? Lol
I get giggidy with excitement of the impact private shareholders like you or me will have on the way the company is run, that assuming Ferrari is a company which the main goal will be providing shareholders with profit $$$$$

Means quick money for people who plan to buy as soon as they go public

Crossovers. Share holders will want maximum profit.

Should have been FIRE.

well only 10% is public so they’re only really bringing in ~1 billion of ‘new’ outside money depending on stock value.

I wonder why i keep forgetting that, oh yes its slower than the P1 and the 918 lol

Perhaps you haven’t seen how their shares are going to be split up once they go public, majority of the Ferrari/Fiat families will be possessing majority share.

I had a look, only 10 percent will be publicly traded, but a guy can dream right? Just imagine the following battle, tesla (something something super fast) vs mission e vs (insert all electric super saiyan ferrari here)

LaFerrari powertrain. Batteries + electric motor + engine = Hybrid.

Too bad new shareholders won’t have any actual power in driving the direction of the company.

I still don’t see Ferrari as a sustainable standalone company.

Whoring themselves out
Oh wait. (I do love to look at the random F1 bits in the cases.)

I wouldn’t expect big changes soon because they are going public. A large per cent will be held by the family who owns FCA. Also any of the shares bought from the FCA owners won’t get voting rights for a number of years.
As an aside, odd company this. It’s part auto manufacturer, part licensor for shoes and shirts, and part sports team. I can't think of any similar car company.
